Teen bashed in face with tree branch in random Brooklyn subway attack

A teen was hit in the face with a tree branch in an unprovoked attack in the subway in Brooklyn, cops said Wednesday.

The 16-year-old was standing on a southbound F train platform around 8:40 a.m. at the Carroll St. subway station in Carroll Gardens when an unidentified man came up and smashed the youth in the face with a tree branch, sources said.

EMS treated the teen at the scene for a cut on the left side of his face and a bruised nose.

It was unclear what sparked the unprovoked attack. Police are searching for the assailant.
