Philly woman shot in the head after car follows her from work

A Philadelphia woman was shot in the head early Saturday morning after being followed from work by an unknown vehicle, authorities said.

The 23-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was in her car when she noticed a black Nissan tailing her, police said according to Fox 29 Philadelphia.

The model of the car is unclear, though the victim told police it had tinted windows and a broken left front headlight.

The Nissan began following her from King of Prussia, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Philly, and continued as she drove onto I-676 East and took an exit onto city streets.

On the 400 block of North 5th Street, the driver of the Nissan reportedly got out and fired multiple shots at the woman using a handgun, according to NBC Philadelphia.

The victim was shot in the head and the driver sped off in the Nissan, officials said.

The woman arrived at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in a private vehicle just after 3 a.m., where she was treated for a gunshot wound on the left side of her forehead.

The incident remains under investigation, officials said.
